David I. Shroyer is a member at Colley Shroyer Abraham Co., LPA in Columbus, Ohio, focusing his practice on personal injury and medical malpractice litigation.
Mr. Shroyer earned his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University in 1977 and received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Capital University Law School in 1980. Early in his legal career, he served as an Assistant Franklin County Prosecutor from 1980 to 1982, during which he assisted in high-profile criminal investigations and prosecutions. He then served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio from 1982 to 1989.
He was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1982. His federal admissions include the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio (1994), the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio (1995), the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit (1991), and the United States Supreme Court (1991).
In addition to active trial practice, Mr. Shroyer has taught advocacy courses at the Attorney General's Advocacy Institute in Washington, D.C., and instructed on cross-examination techniques at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. He is the author of *Mastering the Principles of Trial Advocacy*.
Mr. Shroyer has served as President of the Ohio Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. His professional affiliations include membership in the American Bar Association, American Association for Justice, Ohio Association for Justice, Central Ohio Association for Justice, Franklin County Trial Lawyers Association, and the Columbus Bar Association, where he served on the Board of Commissioners. He has also served on the Ohio Supreme Court Rules Committee and received the Attorney of the Year Award in the Southern District of Ohio.
