Joseph A. Downing founded Joseph A. Downing Co., L.P.A. in December 2007. In 2014, his firm formed an of-counsel relationship with Arenstein & Andersen Co., LPA. His practice includes estate planning, probate, elder law and Medicaid planning, business law, and commercial and residential real estate. Within probate, his work includes the administration of decedents’ estates and guardianships, and his estate-planning work includes special-needs planning.
Downing earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton and his law degree from Ohio Northern University. He was admitted to the Colorado bar in 1996 and to practice in Ohio and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio in 1998. His professional affiliations have included the Miami County, Dayton, and Ohio State bar associations, as well as the Dayton Bar Association’s Estate and Trust Committee.
